SECURITY POLICY - A PYRAMID OF PROTECTION
- Levels support protective marking of documents
- Guards mark areas within a document or record with additional access controls
- Redaction hides guarded areas
Assure checks each record's embedded policy levels and guards before even acknowledging its existence to the user.
Assure allows different hierarchical levels of protection to be applied to stored documents or records. Levels can be configured to reflect an organisation's specific policy on protective marking of information, e.g. restricted, confidential and private.
Guards can be applied to mark areas of a document in a way that allows them to be hidden from users, who may have permission to access the document but do not have specific rights to access the guarded area.
Redaction responds to guards in effect blanking out areas of documents to which a user does not have specific access rights, e.g. a teacher and a social worker may have rights to access a report, but only the social worker has a need to know some aspects of family history.
